I’ve stayed at both:
Pros of Carribean:
-Smaller resort.
-Close to Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot.
-Newly rennovated.
Cons:
-Less food options in the hotel.
Pros of Coronado:
-Nice pool.
-Has many food options.
-Has lake area.
Cons of Coranado:
- Pool slide is closed 90% of the time.
- Food court charges you extra for a table restaurant when it’s really a food court.
- Property is a so large, back rooms take 10 minutes to get to lobby, pool etc.
- Bus stops make it hard to see what buses are coming, long waits.
- Bus stops near swamps so bugs swarm you’re while waiting.
I would pick Carribean Beach.

I was considering both as well.
I narrowed it down to Caribbean Beach because I like the fact that the pools are better, and you can sit on the sand by the lake. I also liked the theme better, its more beachy and relaxing and the other one has a Mexican theme.
Eh, both have good and bad.
I think the food court at CBR is better.
As far as the sit down restaurants go: CSR has a good breakfast buffet, but the sit down restaurant at CBR is better.
I think the amenities at CSR are better. It’s more like a deluxe.
I used to think CSR’s pool was better than CBR, but with the recent rehab, CBR wins.
The new rooms at CSR are gorgeous, but I would like a pirate room at CBR
Both have gorgeous grounds.
Both are VERY large
CBR runs a dedicated internal shuttle where CSR does not.
CSR is a convention resort and sometimes is crowded during the day with conventioneers. However, that being said, I’ve never seen it bother anyone’s vacation because the convention center is a very large building that you really wouldn’t venture into unless you had a reason to be there. You might see them outside, but it’s not intrusive
CSR has Cafe Rix which is an adults only lounge/night club after 10 pm. During the day it’s a nice little cafe. If you have kids and they are old enough to stay alone, the adults could head here for a while.
CSR has gelato and many flavors of it.
Both resorts have a marina where you can rent water craft.
CBR has a lot of “beaches” and places to relax by the water, CSR does not. You can even see Illuminations from the Martinique beach at CBR. You can’t see the whole show, but you can see the fireworks.
So, there are distinct differences between the two resorts. Decide what is important to you in staying at a resort and find the one that meets those needs. If you want a lot of amenities, then CSR is a good choice. If you want excellent theming and a good on site sit down place to eat as well as a good food court, I’d go for CBR.
